Wilderness Volunteers has been providing affordable and meaningful volunteer service opportunities that conserve and protect America’s wild lands since 1997. Working in cooperation with the US Forest Service, National Park Service, the BLM, the US Fish & Wildlife Service and others, you’ll be inspired and invigorated when you see how much a group can accomplish in a few days.

Location: Tucson, AZ
Challenging. Backpacking with some support; ~10 mi. w/ 5000’ gain
Backcountry. Tent camping.
This is a high elevation project: ~8000′
Help the NPS tackle backlogged and important log check step construction throughout the high country.
Location: Salmon, CA
Strenuous. Up to 7-mile daily hikes w/ 800′-1600′ gain
Front country. Tent camping in a designated campground near cars.
This is a medium to high elevation project: 5000-8000 ft.
Join us in the beautiful Trinity Alps Wilderness for a week of trail work! We’ll clear downed trees off the trail, clear brush, re-tread trail sections, and more!
Location: Custer, SD
Strenuous. Periodically lifting 50 lbs, comfort with steep set of concrete stairs
Front country: Structured housing (Fully furnished apartment-style housing)
Help remove unsafe sections of a historic concrete path in Jewel Cave National Monument!
